JOANOT MARTORELL AND ENRICO FERMI: THE ERASMUS+ EXPERIENCE IN VALENCIA

We are Carmen, Alessia, Beatrice, and Leyre. We want to share our Erasmus+ experience with you. In this article, we explain the activities we did during the week. 

• Oceanogràfic. We went there on Tuesday and visited this beautiful place throughout the morning. We had a guide who showed us the most interesting animals living there. 

• Sagunt. On Wednesday, we visited the city of Sagunto. Martí, the school's PE teacher and a university student of history, prepared a special route for us with explanations in both Valencian and Italian. We walked around the city, and afterwards, we visited the castle and a small museum.

• Museu de l’Almoina. After our visit to Sagunto, we went to this museum. We had a great time exploring the Roman ruins and stepping into history.

• City Centre and Old Town. On Thursday, we visited the city centre and the old town, including places like the Mercat Central, La Llotja, and El Micalet. We took a long walk along the main street and then saw the wonderful Palaciu de Valeriola, a very well-known art museum. In the afternoon, we took a bus to the Parc Natural de l’Albufera, an iconic reserve near the sea. There, we enjoyed a 35-minute boat tour around the lake, listening to the explanations of a wise local fisherman.

• Last Day. On the last day, we attended classes. During the lessons, we learned about the differences between the two countries. Then we worked in small groups to prepare a short final review of the week and created a mural with photos of the monuments we visited and the activities we did during these days. Next to each monument, we placed a QR code linking to a similar place in Italy. 

This experience can be seen from two points of view: those who travel and those who host. 

As the group who travelled to another country, we can say this experience was amazing. At first, it was difficult to settle into a new home and speak English, but little by little, we integrated and improved our speaking skills. Now we even have new friends! In Spain, the habits are different from those in Italy, but it was fun and interesting to discover new ways of living daily life. We loved the city of Valencia — it’s a truly beautiful place.

As the Valencian hosts, we showed our city and routines to the Italian students. It was a beautiful and unforgettable experience: we practiced English, made new friends, and discovered another culture. We are really looking forward to going to Salò in March!

L'EXPERIÈNCIA ERASMUS+ A VALÈNCIA 

 

Som Carmen, Alessia, Beatrice i Leyre. Volem compartir amb vosaltres la nostra experiència Erasmus+. En este article, vos expliquem les activitats que vam fer durant la setmana. 

• Oceanogràfic: 

Hi vam anar el dimarts i vam visitar este lloc tan bonic durant tot el matí. Vam tindre un guia que ens va mostrar els animals més interessants que hi viuen. 

• Sagunt: 

El dimecres vam visitar la ciutat de Sagunt. Martí, el professor d’Educació Física del centre i estudiant d’Història a la universitat, ens va preparar una ruta especial amb explicacions en valencià i italià. Vam passejar per la ciutat i, després, vam visitar el castell i un museu xicotet. 

• Museu de l’Almoina: 

Després de la visita a Sagunt, vam anar a este museu. Ens ho vam passar molt bé explorant les ruïnes romanes i viatjant per la història. 

• Centre històric i ciutat vella: 

El dijous vam visitar el centre de la ciutat i la ciutat vella, incloent llocs com el Mercat Central, la Llotja i el Micalet. Vam fer una llarga passejada pel carrer principal i després vam visitar el meravellós Palau de Valeriola, un museu d’art molt reconegut. A la vesprada, vam agafar un autobús cap al Parc Natural de l’Albufera, una reserva icònica vora la mar. Allí vam fer un passeig amb barca de 35 minuts pel llac, escoltant les explicacions d’un pescador de la zona. 

• Últim dia: 

L’últim dia vam assistir a classe. Durant les sessions vam aprendre les diferències entre els dos països. Després, vam treballar en grups reduïts per a preparar una breu valoració final de la setmana i vam crear un mural amb fotos dels monuments que havíem visitat i de les activitats que vam fer durant estos dies. Al costat de cada monument, vam col·locar un codi QR amb un lloc similar d’Itàlia. 

Esta experiència es pot viure des de dos punts de vista: el de qui viatja i el de qui acull. 

Com a grup que va viatjar a un altre país, podem dir que ha sigut una experiència increïble. Al principi, va ser difícil adaptar-nos a una casa i una família noves, i parlar en anglès també era complicat. Però a poc a poc ens vam integrar i vam millorar la nostra fluïdesa. Ara, a més, tenim nous amics! A Espanya els costums són diferents dels d’Itàlia, però ha sigut molt divertit i interessant descobrir altres maneres de viure el dia a dia. Ens ha encantat la ciutat de València — és un lloc realment bonic. 

Com a amfitrions valencians, hem mostrat la nostra ciutat i les nostres rutines als estudiants italians. Ha sigut una experiència preciosa i inoblidable: hem practicat anglès, hem fet nous amics i hem descobert una altra cultura. Tenim moltes ganes d’anar a Salò al març!
